Organisation of Learning/Careers, work releated learning and enterprise

We offer Careers Education Guidance as part of the Personal, Social and Health Education programme. By the End of Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) pupils will have studied issues relating to the world of work, researched Career information and received guidance from Connexions Advisors so that they are in a good position to make informed choices^about their personal learning pathway in Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11). All students in Year 9 will also be interviewed by a Senior Teacher to ensure that curriculum choices are appropriate.

As part of this process Year 9 students will also engage in a "Choices Conference". Students will also have access to AIM Higher activities to promote entrance into Higher Education post 16.
Pupils in Key Stage 4 have the opportunity to follow Vocational Courses in some subjects and all pupils participate in Work Experience Units. All pupils will also have the chance to take part in a number of Enterprise Experiences during their schooling. Also students will have the opportunity to engage in Summer Schools and activities offered by local Universities and Colleges of Further Education.
