Organisation of Learning/Key Stages

We provide fifty one-hour lessons each fortnight. The National Curriculum guidelines we follow ensure that we deliver a broad and balanced curriculum for all our pupils.

Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9)
All students follow a common curriculum: English,
Mathematics, Science, Art and Design, Music, Design
Technology, Geography, History, French, ICT, Physical
Education, Religious Education, Personal, Social and Health Education. In Year 7, students
also follow a Learning Skills course.

Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11)
All students study English Language, Science, Mathematics, Religious Education, Physical Education and Personal, Social and Health Education. In addition, all pupils study for a GCSE in either English Literature or Media Studies.

In Year 9, students are given guidance to help them choose a suitable learning pathway to follow in Years 10 and 11. This includes a personal interview with a member or senior staff.
